Although I live in Poland and for several years I have this comics in Polish. I buy this and the following issues of "Uncle Scrooge". I hope that the comic will appear in the new coloring. And that the will be available in Polish store with the USA comics books.
About covers: Cavazzano's cover is very nice, but Charm's cover for me it is drawn completely poorly and I don't like.
And besides according to the information from CBR, first issue of "Uncle Scrooge" have 48 pages and outside the Scarpa's comisc in issue will be Jonathan Gray's comics.

48 pages for 4 dollars is good price.

I admit my heart sunk just a tad to see it marked as "Uncle Scrooge #1", but that went away when I saw that the covers shown say "#1(#405)"--I would have put it down in my files as something like that anyway.
After seeing so many legendary series' number continuities put into the wood chipper just for the artificial spike in sales it causes, glad to see IDW isn't completely jettisoning the history that comes with that high number. It's the best of both worlds, I guess--speculators with short attention spans get an all new #1, we oldtimers get our US#405.

Jonathan Gray did a few covers for BOOM!. I suspect this first # of Uncle Scrooge actually is one of the comics that was planned by BOOM! but never got published. PREVIEWSworld list Gray as a writer for this issue, but that might be wrong, as it looks like he did the cover art.

But as I wrote in another thread, he was also working on a Mickey Mouse story for Gemstone/Boom that he didn't finish. So maybe he's been working on some stories too.

Edit: On second thought, the cover might actully be Cavazzano. Uncle Scrooge just doesn't have that usual face expressions most of his covers have.
If so, I'm even more excited about the content.

Anyhow, I'm not sure I like the cover art on the subscription variant that much...

Per the other thread, and based on the calendar, I think it's fair to say that the TPBs will collect approx. four issues each. That would work out to about 192 pages. Assuming they throw something else into the mix (a preview of other TPBs, a bonus story, etc.) you might be looking at about 200 pages.

According to IDW - they will roll out with each series over the span of several months:

April is Scrooge
May is Donald
June is Mickey
July is WDCS

Joe Books should be rolling out with Darkwing Duck in the spring.

IDW has its artist editions and Fantagraphics has its Carl Barks and Don Rosa libraries.

All-in-all, should be a very solid year.
