I agree. I would like to know when and where the stories first appeared. I pulled out my stack of Uncle $crooge Adventures comic published by Gladstone---the company, not the gander---in the 1990s and the credits of each story were included at the bottom of the last page (the letters page), giving the names of those who worked on story, pencils, inks, American script (where necessary), lettering and colors. If the story was a reprint, the original publication was cited, such as "Topolino 250, 1960" or "Uncle Scrooge 21, March 1958."
If IDW plans to reprint foreign stories that have never appeared in the United States, I want to know the country of origin for each story. I'm sure the foreign stories will contain a few aspects which may seem odd or out of place to American readers. Has anyone ever tried to make a comparison of the different ways Donald and Scrooge and Duckburg are portrayed in various countries? Does the Brazilian Donald work at jobs that the Norwegian Donald has never even heard of? Does the Danish Scrooge say and do things that the Italian Scrooge would never say or do? Are there businesses in the French Duckburg that are not found in the Polish Duckburg? Or is the world of the Disney ducks pretty much consistent from one country to the next? Donald seems to have been driving the same car (with the 313 license plate) for 75 years!

Along with the interview with Sarah Gaydos, the ICv2 page also has (and has had for a few days now) a banner ad at the top of the web page that advertises Disney comics from IDW and provides a link to more info about IDW's Disney comics. I think it is great that IDW is doing so much to promote their Disney comics line!

Also it is great to see it affirmed that for the foreseeable future IDW is staying away from Barks reprints.

^I think what's happened is that the plan was originally to collect 3 issues, but it's been bumped up to 4. In amazon's earliest listings the page count was much lower and the cost was a few dollars less, but that's been changed.

If 4 issues are indeed included, I may need to opt for that instead of buying the individual issues. Without a subscription that I can get directly through the mail without paying shipping I'd have to go for the more economical alternative.

That's a bit of a conundrum for me. I love collecting trades and hardcovers, and they're almost always more convenient and cheaper. Still, I love collecting single issues, too. Going to the shop every week and picking up a couple of comics is fun.

My pull list consists of stuff I've been collecting for years, and I only add something when I feel I'm getting my money's worth per issue. With the Disney books' high page count and inclusion of backup stories it feels like a good buy. With most comics it's 20 pages and only a sliver of story - better suited for a collection!
