I got my box set from Amazon last Friday. The books are huge! I didn't realize just how much bigger they were going to be than the Barks books.

I received my boxed set over the weekend, and am blown away by how beautiful these tomes are. The size is perfect! Rosa's detailed work really shines on the oversized pages. I love the colouring work as well. Awesome all around! Bring on the rest of the volumes!

Quote from user: groovemachineThese Fantagraphics collections are things I've always dreamed about since seeing the Another Rainbow advertisements for the black and white Carl Barks library back in the Gladstone comics in the '80s. I'm finally getting all this amazing material...Gottfredson, Barks, and Rosa are the trifecta for me and I never would've fallen in love with Disney comics and discovered Barks and Gottfredson if it wasn't for Don Rosa.
Hi, groovemachine. That's EXACTLY how I've been feeling! This is truly a great time for fans of the big three. I'd also been dreaming for years of seeing these collections released. And, while I'd been reading Disney comics on and off since childhood, it was Rosa that really pulled me back in!

Ordered mine through Amazon as an early Christmas gift, along with Vol. 14 of the Barks library.
Awesome to see.
I would echo what someone else said in that these volumes almost make the Barks Collection seem underwhelming.
It also makes me wish that Fantagraphics sold Barks slipcases separately. Even at a higher, direct-mail cost, I would imagine there are enough people who would go for it.

I would definitely buy the Barks slipcases. Maybe I'll shoot Fantagraphics an email inquiring about it.

OK, so by now we all know that the Rosa collection is awesome.
One thing that bugged me: The Mickey box sets have these little semicircles carved out on the opening, so you can put your fingers on the side and pull the books out. The Rosa box set doesn't have those, so I have to pick it up and dump the books into my hand. A minor inconvenience, nitpicky, but I do wonder why they wouldn't have the standard notches.

I was going to add that I had also noticed it was a little bit of a hassle to get the Don Rosa books out of the slipcase. I agree a little half circle notch might be helpful. However, I just actually watched myself do it and it's not really that big of deal at all. I do lift the whole slipcase first out of my bookcase so I don't scuff the bottom up.
I've had these books a couple weeks now and I'm still enjoying them immensely. I'm so pleased to now finally have them. I guess there's really no point to this post except to say how much I'm enjoying the Don Rosa Library!

I've noticed a few coloring/lettering errors.
On page 16, panel 1 of Book 1, a part jutting out from the golden disk is colored brown instead of yellow, as if it was part of the pottery.
On page 84, panel 6 of Book 1, the first duck says "NOT WE CAN HELP IT" instead of "NOT IF WE CAN HELP IT".
On page 16, panel 1 of Book 2, the second duck's hat should be blue, but it's colored green. The duck with the green hat ran off in the previous panel, and doesn't come back until 3 panels later.
