Some Italian artists still are great though. For example take a look at the best stories of Casty if you are interested. He has a great "Scarpa" feeling, and especially "The World to Come" was a great sequel of a great Floyd Gottfredson story. I hope he will continue creating stories from the Gottfredson universe.

Don is such a stickler for accuracy and chronology, I'd actually like to see the stories presented in the order he see's them fitting in, which would include the approach to Life and Times material.

I would actually be interested in seeing the order of the stories' own internal continuity. So that Croesus would come before Son of the Sun. Life of Scrooge would come first then, I guess, with W.H.A.D.D.A.L.O.T.T.A.J.A.R.G.O.N. and Treasure under Glass pretty early.

Personally, I'd like to see them in publication order. In that order, a lot of my long-time favorites that I haven't gotten to read in years would come first. I remember reading most of Don's stories when Gladstone printed them (due to missing an issue here and there, I missed a couple in their first printings). We'll get to see the evolution of the "Don Rosa" style that way.

Do not worry. Publication order is the only obviously appropriate system, and it will be the only one I'll allow.

Having discovered the duck comics after becoming a fan of Ducktales, I remember buying the gladstone issues and always having a favorite that I could instantly recognize based on how they were drawn. I loved how long it would take me to read a Rosa story because I would be laughing at all of the added details. It might be a running gag about some mouse in the back ground or simply the ducks making a funny face, because they would be. So many things "unspoken" could be assertained in one panel, above and beyond the actual entertaining story, that I simply couldn't get enough. I have waited it seems all my life for this collection and I'm glad it's finally going to be available. Thank you Don for entertaining me through the years, and with this collection, for many more years to come.

My experience was very similar, with Rosa's adventure tales and Van Horn's comedies standing out. I used to live going to the neighborhood candy store to pick up the latest issue.
