Floyd Norman's strips were, according to INDUCKS and the intro from the first collection, serialized. I may be mistaken as to their number, due to my lack of access to the source material, I'm just going off of what I see on INDUCKS.
As to why him specifically? I don't care much about the gag strips. I just don't. As such, the only other person whose overall work I'd be interested in would be (if I understand my chronology properly) Gonzales. But they're not exactly going to fit in a single book, while Norman's would.
For the record, I'd be quite happy to have a full collection of the Sunday strips until they stopped being adventure stories, but I would happily buy a Norman volume as well.

Thanks. Those stories look interesting. The Italians printed some of them in comic book format. Norman had various artists draw them -sometimes even in the same story. Most of them have a really modern art style that I don't like. But, Roy Howell's work looks good. I really doubt that Fantagraphics will make a volume of Floyd Norman's stories in a Gottfredson set. It makes little sense. I can see putting in a few pages as examples of someone influenced by Gottfredson in an extras section, but no more.

I was just talking about something, anything, that finishes the box set and isn't just gag strips. But since Norman was the only one who did adventure strips, and they plan to stop after the adventure strips become gag-only... it makes more sense than none.
I'm perhaps in a smaller camp that isn't really interested in purely funny stories from Disney, myself, so Norman's more interesting to me personally by a mile than say, a collection of the best gag strips Gottfredson did.

I'll admit I'm not exactly champing at the bit for Gottfredson gag strips (though I'm at least curious), but I have a pretty strong conviction that the Floyd Gottfredson Library should remain focused on Floyd Gottfredson. If you want to do a Norman collection IN ADDITION, great, I'll buy it. But everything in its proper place.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. When I was younger I didn't realize that aberzombies (aside from slang) weren't something outside of Mickey Mouse.
