I ordered the first book from Amazon. I hope that won't force me to buy a duplicate to get the box for the first set. If we want the box sets, do we have to order them by the box? If so, can I cancel the Amazon order?

I have canceled my single book to now wait for the first boxed set. I hope many of us doing that won't stop the project dead from lack of sales.

What is the difference in the box set? Is it just the box that holds the 2 volumes or is there some other extras included? I am planning on buying them as they are released, but now I am not sure. October seems like a long wait to get to hold one of these. Even July seems like a long wait!
As for waiting for the box sets, hopefully it won't hurt the series. I don't kow if Amazon communicates with publishers about preorders or not, but if they do, Fantagraphics will know that many are waiting for the box set. Even if they don't report preorders I would think that Amazon would order an extra copy for each preorder that they do receive (although it didn't seem that way with the Life and Times books), so Fantagraphics would know that way.

Fantagraphics sells the boxes seperately from their website for the Peanuts books. They're something like $5 or $6 each.
People worrying about this project stopping due to a lack in sales (especially of the concern is revolving around the books being offered in two ways) should remember that Fantagraphics is following a business strategy that has shown success with both Peanuts and Dennis the Menace.

Can we order the Box Set in USA? I didn't see that option on US Amazon.com.

It seems to be slightly cheaper on the US site, though.
One box + shipping to Europe from Amazon.com = 39.47 US dollars
One box incl. German VAT but excl. shipping from Amazon.de = 37.99 euros (approximately 50-55 US dollars)
If I would order it from Amazon.de, Amazon would switch over to slightly lower Swedish VAT but at the same time add an additional ?¬6 shipping charge. On the other hand, the US book is so cheap and the Swedish VAT on books is so low, so it is unlikely to be stopped in the customs, and even if the Swedish customs choose to apply extra charges, it would still be cheaper to order it from Amazon.com. I assume that there are also other Europeans who may save some money by ordering it from Amazon.com instead of some European Amazon site, although customs handling charges may make the USA option more expensive for some people.
