We know the size of the book, but what is the size of the strip? Width from left hand panel border to the right hand panel border?

Yep, I hope Fantagraphics take the upcoming box into account when evaluating the initial sales of volume 1. But I guess they know what to expect from the Peanuts series.

I was at the Fantagraphics bookstore today in Georgetown (part of Seattle). Near the cash register and what did I see?...
That's right! They had a copy of the book. Of course, it was an advanced copy so I couldn't purchase it. I leafed through it. This is honestly any Gottfredson Mickey fan's dream!
I did talk to a gentleman there regarding when it's released. The books' are sitting at customs now - since they were printed in Singapore - so it could be any day now. I don't want to go into any specific details beyond that, because we all know how fast rumors spread on the internet.

Diamond Comics is shipping MICKEY MOUSE HC VOL 01 DEATH VALLEY next week. The book will be available at USA comic shops on Wednesday, 1 June 2011.

With help from Disney's internal files and a number of private collectors, I believe some of the 1930-31 stories look better in this volume than they've looked for a long time. As for the extra material beyond the stories themselves, Carl Barks has had dozens of books over the years to preserve and reprint his behind-the-scenes documents; Gottfredson has had fewer such chances, so I'm excited to present a lot of rare, previously unseen stuff.
On behalf of just me??this is a project that I've wanted to see for most of my life. Floyd, I owe it to you.

A new books will be released every 6 months, a box set of two books every year.
