By heart.. is this the one by Gatto? What's this new reprint?.. I haven't
gone to my newsagent's for a week now :-)
But I got the new issue of Topolino (#2300).. and it seems that next issue
will be something for collectors. It'll have two different covers (I mean..
there'll be two diffent editions of the same issue, with two different
covers) quite curious.. I think it's the first time this happens in Italy..
(I'm talking about Disney comics of course :-)

Hi all,
I'd like to ask all of you with drawing skills to do me an unusual
favor:
I hope to travel to Asia soon, where tattoos shall be good, clean and
cheap. But of course, one has to love the picture as it will follow
you quite a time. Therefore (as I can't draw that good), I'm
searching for THE picture I want to carry with me for my life, and it
shall have to do with Disney comics.
So I'd like to announce a little contest.
The person drawing the best sketch for a tattoo wins at least all my
spare German Micky Maus, two spare Gladstones and some surprise stuff
(besides my eternal thankfulness).
The drawing shall include
either
Donald, Scrooge, HDL or Goofy
or a combination of them,
preferrably in an ornamental / tribal way (small characters in an
ornamental, not big portraits), especially for a tattoo around the
arm close to the shoulder (therefore around 0.5 to 2 x 8 inches (2-5x
20 cm)).
For all of those who would take the effort; I'd ask you to notify me
that you're starting grinding your brains and fantasy.

In The danish version of Mr. Rosas Kalevala, on the first page of part
3, they refer
to the tune Louhi plays, telling the readers it's an excerpt from the
Valkurie (?) by
the german composer Wagner. They also tell that Rosa used this example
before...,
but of course they don't tell where... why would they, only I was
interested?
I consider myself a Rosa-knower, but I can't remember muscal details...
Only am I sitting with "A little Something special" and it's not the
example on that
last page, of that story (Scrooge is humming in his mind there, because
Goldie just
kissed him...)

A while ago I recall someone asking about "Another Rainbow's Carls Barks
Library" and in particular Volume 1. I know of a store in Australia that has
Volume 1,2 &3. This store also has some of the Gladstone albums and
Australian Disney comics from the 70's.

The story where Donald buys rare dimes from Scrooge and sells them
to a coin dealer is Walt Disney's Comincs and Stories #130(July, 1951).
This is one of my personal favorites. It has a great plot with multiple
reversals of fortune. Donald pits his wits against Uncle Scrooge and
gets whipped. But the kids bail him out (more than once).
There's an interesting quote from Scrooge:
"Here's the first billion I ever made - down at the bottom of the pile,
where it's been for seventy years!"
I don't know if this was incorporated in the Scrooge
Historiography.
"Coin collectors make me sick!They don't start collecting until the
coins are scarce. And I'm the guy that makes 'em scarce!"
