You see? No name.

Because that is what my Danish friends told me
in Copenhagen. They said it is to protect the
Danish comics.

He did fairy tales, too, remember? So he might be able to pull it off.
But according to interviews with him, he has lots of stories to tell. I
doubt he'd take time off from his next graphic novel to write a Donald
Duck story.

And, besides, I'd rather read his creator-owned stories. The man is a
genius.

Well this shows how difficult communication via
the internet can be. It was not my intention at
all to draw any conclusions on you behalf. I
can now see that I should have dropped the
quess in h end of that posting. I am indeed
very sorry for this.

Well, I can ensure you and everybody else here
that nothing there was written with the purpose
of offending anybody.

Hmmm... I did recently state that Van Horn is
"one of the best". I have previously stated
that I like the various artists like Paul Murry,
Floyd Gottfredson, etc. very much. I have also
staded that I like the Italian "Mickey Mouse
time travelling stories very well".

I think that "over-focused" may be a better word
than "single-minded" here.

That's great news for everybody here!

That is indeed great news!

But please, I did never assume that Pascal
Pierrey wasn't a great Duckfan or a fan of you
- I only assumed he was replaced by someone
else with an other attidude.

THAT would be weird story! :-) Alan is one of my non-Disney favorites, great
storyteller. But even if Gemstone people would like to make this kind of
stuff, *Disney* might disagree. Alan Moore script and Jeff Smith artwork!
:-)
On Elseworlds:
This is about "familiar heros in different times and places" (if I remember
the DC's emblem phrase correctly). Isn't this what Italian creators have
done in a way for years; ducks in history and strange places...

Except for doing covers, Bill Van Horn is not working for Gemstone. At the
moment, as far as I know, Gemstone is not commissioning any new stories--just
covers. Even if Gemstone was, there really is no advantage to working
exclusively for any of the Disney licensees.

And as for your comments about Bill's old DuckTales stories, Bill wrote most
of them. But I wrote a few of them. So, on behalf of both Bill and myself,
thanks for the compliments. Glad you enjoyed them.

Quack;

It was my fault; I thought that I made a private reply to a friend.
Anyway, for the curious among you here is the Swedish text in
translation:

Our good friend Stefan Di?s (one of the founders of Nafs(k), the
Swedish Donaldist Society) has for a long time campaigned to make
Nafs(k) more silly. "It is of great importance to be silly"

And I fully endorse that, we must not take ourself or the Donaldism
too seriously.

We must not take it too seriously. We should take it just as serious as
it is. Which means we cannot take it seriously enough. Because fun is
serious, of course. It would not be funny otherwise, would it?

I couldn't find any credits, but I think it is an Italian work.
Here are titles of this album in different languages: "That's Donald!", "?a
c'est Donald!", "lo Paperino!", "As? es Donald!", "S? o Donald", "Ach, ten
Donald"
I'll ask my friend if he can scan these three pages.

You don't have this tree on your website.
This tree (and a map also) was published only in this album, I think.
It's quite similar to Van Horn's tree (ducks are sitting on the branches).

Dear Don:
my comment, of course was a cynical one. I can't believe
that ignorant of Bush are assuming the title of emperor of world, and really
really, I think is a new Hitler... sorry if the blitzkrieg is not a good
history fact to compare...

I think that if USA is that lot of thing they talk in the movies, Bush would
be destitued or shooting by Christopher Walken (LOL)...
You need a trekkie president who could believe in the Prime Directive...

without many hopes,

does that mean it has been published in other countries? I remember about a "that's donald" series of marketing products, but it was a long time ago (probably 1994, donald's birthday)

that'd be great, thanks a lot!

Yes! I would vote for Jean-Luc Picard in a heartbeat. He could be our first French president (oops, pardon me...er, our first "freedom" president). As for "dropping it," I'm afraid that's the problem. We're dropping too much?bombs that is. The question on my mind: Who would Scrooge invade? Every generation has its Brutopia.
