I just wonder if Gary or any one else here connected to Gemstone, can tell
us if Gemstone has considered any special publication, like a big book, to
honour Barks' great memory and/or to commemorate the past 100th anniversary
of Barks' birth?

for that service, and do - but no question the investment at Gemstone's
end is much lower than it would be otherwise.
As for color, we're rolling our own.

Hello,
I'd like to have the time to write you some of my impressions about
the Napoli convention: I went there with some other Italian friends
(hi, Nicola and Dario!) and we had a very good time in it, having
also the opportunity to meet Don Rosa, Luca Boschi, Albero Becattini,
Lidia Cannatella and (for 2 or 3 seconds...) Blascso Pisapia!
BTW, I placen on line some pictures shot at the convention, they are
not very good, batteries were low so the flash light was insufficient
to have good photos... you can find them at

Very nice photographs, Paolo. Thanks for putting em online and sharing the
photos. i saved all of em into my harddrive. i realy like the photos of the
covers, there are apparently many more superhero-turned-ducks covers i
havent see and i get to see some thru ur photos. again, thanks a lot :-D
oh yeah, to add idea and opinion to recent disney guest star comic artists,
i myself would love to see if Bill Watterson do a duck comic strip. Too bad,
he's retired, i like his comic strips a lot.

featured in Gladstone's "DuckTales" book characterized Launchpad as a very
flat, boring character, and so did some of the "DuckTales" TV episodes. (Most
notably in the second season.)
I mean, I can HEAR Launchpad saying, "Oh, my achin' socks!" But I just can't
hear him saying--from the Studio story in the same issue--"Because through
the years two of Star Island's points--really low beaches--became covered
with water! They're now only visible from the air!"

After entering Giorgio's name into Google, I found a few sites with scans of
his work, but unfortunantely, I haven't found any full-page scans yet. I'll

For some reason, I enjoy his art style. It's "loose" and "cartoony," which is
often the downfall of artists--Disney Duck artists especially--but I think it
really works here. (But what do I know?)
