I draw quite a lot, but I rarely show it here because of ongoing problems with my scanner. Lately, I decided to make pictures of my drawings instead of scanning them, which goes a lot faster. First a drawing I made last week, and another one that is several months old.

The year: 1906. Scrooge McDuck's expert on new technology showed him the wonders of a new medium: kinematography, in other words movies. Scrooge remembered the one he saw at the World's Fair two years earlier, and McDuck Movies was founded. The expert got the job of making the first one by himself, and started making Oliver Twist. But alas, Scrooge stormed on the set in the middle of filming when he realised how expensive it is. The film was cut immediately, and it would take until the 1920s before McDuck Movies was making movies again. Almost all records of the movie have been destroyed, but recently this one screenshot was found. It was tinted by hand, as movies were in those days. ©McDuck Movies, 1906. (Copyright expired.)

The year: 1969. The animation company Hanna-Montana made a short television series called "Quacky Races". It was aired on DBS (Duckburg Broadcasting System, owned by multi-gazillionaire Scrooge McDuck). It featured 11 race cars participating in the Quacky Races, a wacky racing event. Only 34 episodes were made, but a few characters got their own spinoff series later on. Penelope Penguin and the Ant Mob starred in "The Perils of Penelope Penguin", and villains Duck Dastardly and Beagley starred in "Duck Dastardly and Beagley in Their Flying Machines". These are promotional images of Duck Dastardly and Beagley, ©Hanna-Montana, 1969.

It's great. Wonderful idea having Scrooge use a water cannon instead of the more typical water gun. The cannon feels like something he would use since one is part of his bin's security.

That's a raw egg cannon! You can see the egg yolk between the Beagle's eyes better in this colour version:

Here is my version of what I think a favourite Walt Kelly WDC cover would look like, if drawn by Carl Barks:
