Let's see -- on the one hand, we have people discussing whether or not Carl
Barks was the "father" of Donald Duck.

On the other, we have people discussing whether or not a grandmother's
sister can legitimately be called an "uncle".

Seems to me, if Carl Barks can be Donald Duck's father, when they aren't
even of the same SPECIES, people shouldn't have any trouble with calling a
grand-uncle an uncle.

Yes, it (Taikaviitta 2000 / Taikaviitta) was published
November 1999 - December 2000.

It all started well: Helsinki Media even published the first original
issue in its rightful place (Finland seems to be the only country - in
addition to Italy - where this was done correctly). Anyways, in
January 2000, Taikaviitta 2000 made a three-year time jump and started
publishing the comics in Scandinavian order and year after that:
WHAM.

in effect I'm surprise....
D letter in DCML indicate Disney or Duck?
I love Gottfredson strip more than Barks.

if you rotate image, Paint Shop Pro automatically add an antialiasing filter
(similar to blur),
usually is correct this procedure, but is possible correct the problem with
sharpen and edge filter.
an advice... use uncrompessed format like BMP; the JPG format create error
diffusion.
In alternative use professional software like as Photoshop, CorelDraw, ecc.

Someone asked about the Barks hommage books that were
published in each country. We got two of them in
France.

A special Journal de Mickey issue about one month
after Barks' death (issue #2519), with a few rare
stories, two editorials with photos and sketches and a
poster with famous oils and covers by Carl Barks.

Then, in Picsou #350, which was a special Barks 100th
anniversary, more than 30 pages of articles, oil
reproductions and rare sketches plus a few Barks
classics.

Bye
Melanie

Just call me Angelo, I don't like this "Mr." thingie.

Anyone can simply come along and take it, that's
right. If nobody did, that's not because of copyright
laws, but because your site is not interesting enough
to steal. I have lots of doubts BTW that you can feed
your children with advertissments placed on your site.

>When Mr. Totti steals a person's work, he steals that
person's livelihood.

No. The sites I used don't make the living of anyone.

Internet thievery, he is

say it's okay to steal

not to be done.

But they still will be done, even if anyone can use
the work. Because lots of people just have nothing
else to do.

The #%$£~@!§ people are not those who use the works of
others but the ones who harass others because they
steal their texts or images.

Just because you wrote one line of text one day you
want everyone to keep asking you forever for
permission of using that line of text. You make
something publicly available and then pretend to keep
an absolute full control on it. I say that is stupid
on the Internet.

I reserve me the right of using any information I can
find on the Internet anywhere, without mentioning my
sources. Who cares about the name of the person who
originally scanned an image?

The internet will always be a big mess where you can
find
pirated softwares, copyrighted music, games (to name
the three most populars)
etc. for free. That is not extravagant, that is the
truth.

"I reserve me" the right to ask for the owner of the list (Harry? Per?) to
throw this guy the hell out of here, thanks.

I *don't* agree, Sprea! Although he at some point "stole" parts of my
homepage, he perfectly well explained why he feels, that he has the
right (or whatever you'd like to call) to do so.

Kicking him off this list is pure discrimination. History has shown that
nothing good comes out of that. Angelo has not spammed this list in any
sense, nor has he posted off-topic messages.

Angelo, many of us disagree with your way of utilising other people's
material. I still don't understand why you don't try to cooperate with
some of us. The idea of having some sort of "ultimate" link site is
great, but this "stealing" business makes us in a bad mood and not many
(here) would probably help you. You follow a bad strategy IMO, simple
as that...

(Please imagine a bulb magically turning on, sparked to life by the above remark)
Right!
*Quackmore* is Donald's father and no one else!
The duck artists are his *chroniclers*!

Kenneth:
>>I have an older version of Paint Shop Pro and it does not blur the picture
>>when you rotate it most be a problem with the newer software.

Well, the amount of blur is a factor of the angle of rotation.
And actually I experimented with the function with an earlier version a couple of years ago;
from then on I've always preferred to correct the tilt manually, however tedious it can get.
I think that, like jpg compression, it must be OK for photos because there is so much information.
but a drawing, and moreover a b&w drawing can't take it. Maybe "blur" wasn't the correct term;
"smudge"? As for compression, it's not a blur but a halo of "grey" dots everywere.

>>I agree that crediting your self with someone else's work is not fair but I
>>see nothing wrong with useing someone else's work on you page as long as you
>>give them credit for it. As the Internet is freedom of information.

"Quoting" pictures without an official authorization is what we all do on our sites. But we
make it clear that they are not our property but the Walt Disney Company's and that no
profit is made out of it.
The Net enables webmasters to go even one step further than credifting: you can add
a link to the source.
The problem is that Angelo Toti doesn't ask permission, links in an ambiguous way that
makes its look like it's his own work, and instead of crediting the author of the original
site, he substitutes his own name for it.
Freedom (of information?) is not the point. (See Dan's example.)

I will simply note that most ISPs will respond quickly to complaints
of users utilizing their resources for pirated material, be it words,
pictures, music, software or whatever.

In fact, such activities usually are in violation of the ISP's
Acceptable Use Policy.

Just a thought.

http://www.geocities.com/donald313us/fandom.html now comes up as 404
not found. It would appear that the ISP has spoken...

Hey FABIO,

No offense to the late and great Maestro Barks, one of the great
storytellers of all time, but... I've been wondering if anyone was going to
make the statement you have. :-)

History has shown that so far in this list we've had no such bad behaviored
person that instead of apologizing for his obvious mistakes keeps
arrogantly saying that he'll keep copying stuff without quoting the source.
One time is acceptable (for naivety), maybe even two, but not three.
