You have one of the versions of Race To The South Seas closest to the original in Walt Disney Treasures 1 (2006) already. Or is someone pretending to have better than this?

I'm located in California and recently ordered a Gemstone Album from the Book Depository. It was less than the original price with free shipping. I hadn't realized they were located out of the country, though. 5 days after I ordered it I received an email from them saying that it had shipped and delivery could take up to 14 days. I'm hoping it's packed well and I'm waiting to see what kind of condition it arrives in.

I like the free shipping because with Amazon to qualify for free shipping I need to spend over $25. The Book Depository's great price on the new Fantagraphic book with free shipping is tempting. The last Fantagraphics book I bought at my local comic book store for $30 plus tax because I wanted to support them and I didn't want to wait. I always have lots of Carl Barks things I want, though, and they really start adding up.

I also still haven't completely decided if I'd rather collect my Barks' stories in the older, but larger, softbound Carl Barks Library in Color which I've been slowly adding to my collection, or just stop buying them completely and patiently wait for the Fantagraphic books. Personally, I like the larger size better, but I do like the Fantagraphics old style coloring and the nice binding. I'll probably keep buying both but I honestly hate to admit that to myself. It's amazing how many times and ways you can keep buying the same stories.

It's the same (a cut-and-paste mixture of Barks and Jippes), except the Fantagraphics collection mimics the 1940s color; the Treasures version has modern color.

I'll venture a guess that it has something to do with a bunch of agreements signed by various states. Essentially they realized they were losing out on a lot of tax revenue and so out of state purchases and online transactions (such as Amazon) are subject to tax.
