I still maintain that they could produce an extra volume or two, just specifically devoted to extra essays and back story, art, etc.
And that there would be more than enough interest from collectors for these additional volumes even if they where produced in lesser amounts.
I would be more than extremely interested in this concept to fill out the Barks series.

I will certainly buy anything Fantagraphics releases with Barks name on a cover haha.
Yes, I´d love a whole book on Barks or maybe more. The actual "extras" in the books aren´t informative at all. I wish there were more details on Barks life during the period when the stories were written and how it affected his art. Some talks about the politics inside Disney, etc. I don´t know. Anything but a bland description of the stories.
Is there a good biography on him? I mean a real biography, not some interview or some guy talking about his work in academic way. I mean the story of his life and his work, etc.

Huh. I'm pretty sure that "Trail of the Unicorn" was publish AFTER "Luck of the north". I wish they would put those stories in the proper order...

I thought the story's title was "The Seven Cities of Cibola"...or was it originally published without a title, and only christened The Seven Cities of Cibola by one of the latter-day editors (possibly at Gladstone Comics)? Either way, I'm looking forward to the next Uncle Scrooge volume. Between this and the upcoming Don Rosa books, it'll be nice to have more Uncle Scrooge in my library other than Boom's collections and DuckTales on DVD.

When in the timeline of Barks' work would a volume have only 10-pagers? He drew Donald Duck long stories from 1942-1952, and also in 1955-59, and Uncle Scrooge long stories from 1953-1966 (his retirement year).

I see your point now. The Uncle Scrooge longer stories being placed in Uncle Scrooge volumes, will leave the last few "Donald Duck" volumes (1961-66) with only "Comics & Stories" stories, and thus, no stories longer than 10 pages. Those volumes will likely have to have better and more interesting "extras", if Fantagraphics wants to get sales from casual buyers (non-hard core-fans).
