I'm curious to see how they'll handle Pluto Saves the Ship and The Riddle of the Red Hat. So far, they've been doing the stories (roughly) chronologically, in the volumes (with some exceptions). I wonder if those two stories will be saved for the Disney Family books (even though the Grandma Duck, Junior Woodchuck, Daisy Duck Diary, and Gyro Gearloose stories were written many years after the other two stories)? If not, how do you think they should handle those two stories?

After all, I would presume the first volume of the series would be Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold!, and will probably include stories like The Mummy's Ring, Too Many Pets, and the early 10 pagers (Victory Garden, Rabbit's Foot, etc.) Do you think Pluto Saves the Ship should instead be included in this volume?

Riddle of the Red Hat would be situated around a volume that would probably have either Frozen Gold or The Terror of the River, the two Four Color stories that it is set between....

Still, though, considering that all the other stories in these volumes clearly focus on Donald, I think it would make more sense to move Pluto and Riddle and put them in a miscellaneous volume with the other random character stories, like JW, DDD, Gyro, and Grandma, despite the large chronological distance between the early Mouse character stories and the later Duck Universe stories. What do you guys think?

Another thing that just crossed my mind...Do you think there'd ever be a chance of seeing translated stories of the José Carioca Barks stories that replaced Donald with José? Does anyone know the details behind those stories? I think that EVERYTHING drawn by Barks should be in chronological volumes. So, "Riddle of The Red Hat" should be in the mid 1940s volume and "Pluto saves The Ship" should be in the first volume.

I don't think that the Ze Carioca stories should be printed in USA because they are Barks' exact drawings with Donald removed and replaced by Jose Carioca, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie removed and replaced by 2 parrot nephews of Jose. We already have 95% of that artwork, and 100% of those stories.

I read somewhere that the Woodchucks will be omitted. Daisy and Grandma weren't scripted by Barks, so who knows? If Mickey and Pluto are omitted too, we are in for thin volumes 1-4. Even more so considering that Barks hadn't started doing covers back then.

I am SURE that Barks' drawn, but not written stories will all be included. I find it difficult to understand why Fantagraphics would leave out Barks' Junior Woodchucks stories, as drawn by Daan Jippes, they look 95 % as Barks' inks would have in the mid '60s. So, why leave them out?

It would be great if somewhere down the line they publish all the Carl Barks' Junior Woodchucks stories that were drawn by Daan Jippes. Personally, I would also like to see the Carl Barks roughly drawn scripts as well.

It was confirmed from the beginning and has always been the assumption that there will be 30 volumes. So it would only be the logical conclusion that Fantagraphics would included pretty well everything that Another Rainbow had n their 30 volume collection.

Received "Cities of Gold" yesterday. It's as wonderful as all the previous volumes. My favourite Scrooge-adventures as a kid was always "Philosopher's Stone" and "The Golden Fleecing", so this was perfection for me :)
