Edit: Was hoping for another Scrooge volume, but this is a good pile of material none the less.

I couldn't help but notice Amazon has "Trail of the Unicorn" at 216 pages, whereas the other volumes have averaged 240.
So, going by Wikipedia's list of Barks' chronologically released tales, the following stories would be featured (immediately following Voodoo Hoodoo):

If true, it's odd that they didn't promote "A Letter To Santa" in the press release, or even give it the cover's honor, going by their love of featuring Christmas tales in the spotlight.

Maybe because it's coming out in June?
Should have clarified my comment to point out I was surprised they didn't delay the release with that purpose, too.
Then again they may think (correctly, IMHO) that variety is preferred and 2 Donald Christmas covers are enough.

At any rate, I'm a happy camper. Trail of the Unicorn is one of my all time favorites, and albeit it's never spoken of in the same breath as, say, Lost in the Andes or Only A Poor Old Man, it's an excellent story and worthy of the spotlight.

Seeing all the Donald stories printed is great, but I am very much ready for another Scrooge volume. Just a preference of strawberry to raspberry, I suppose. Two great tastes, but we've all got our favorites...

How about when they get to the Gyro Gearloose/Grandma Duck's Farm Friends/Daisy Duck's Diary material? Good luck finding cover-worthy stories THERE...maybe "The Riddle of the Red Hat", but that features Mickey Mouse, and to be honest, I think that one would go best chronologically (or as the last story in the book) with the 1945 Donald Duck stories. Maybe the one-shots would be best mixed in with other material of the years they were published as well (Grandma and Daisy mixed in the Donald volumes and Gyro in with the Uncle Scrooge stories). Just my opinion.
It didn't work out that way, but I thought that originally we'd get one Donald and one Scrooge book a year after the first two volumes came out.

It would have been nice to see them all chronologically regardless of main character, and if licensing wasn't an issue, even to see Barks' MGM, Walter Lantz and Warner Bros. stories included where they'd belong by date...but that may be asking for the impossible (and at least we do have the Barney Bear material thanks to YOE books).

I cannot agree with this more emphatically. I don't mind publishing the books out of order, but being completely out of order means it's not a collection that will ever serve as my primary.
