Is there any chance that Fantagraphics (or another publisher, for that matter) might consider putting out a volume reproducing Barks' Duck lithographic/oil painting and figurine works, along the lines of an updated "Fine Art of Walt Disney's Donald Duck" that Another Rainbow produced in the early 80s? I would snap that up in a heartbeat.

I don't have children of my own, but I and my writing and drawing work partners use children of family and friends as testers of our stories. They are honest about whether or not they like our stories. They know that we are professionals, and don't judge us harshly for liking "children's stories". They think it's "cool" to be "creative", and they realise that our stories are about real people in real situations, and based on real emotions, and written on 2 levels that can be enjoyed by adults as well as kids.

Yes, a second volume including all the paintings not included in that book, and larger sized images of those which were small, would definitely sell well.

It looks like Amazon has a product page up for the next volume in the Barks series which is being called 'The Pixilated Parrot.' In addition to this story, it will also contain 'In Ancient Persia' and 'Vacation Time' which means it should be Volume 9 in the series (after Volume 8: Trail of the Unicorn).
I suppose that means that Volume 10 will contain stories like 'In Old California,' and 'The Magic Hourglass.' Volume 13 will likely have post-1952 Donald Duck and WDC&S material (maybe 'Trick or Treat' as the lead-in title, which would be great for an October 2015 release to tie in with Halloween). Volumes 1-4 will obviously be the early Barks Duck stories leading up to the material in Volume 5: Christmas on Bear Mountain.
As someone has mentioned before, I'm really curious what they'll do post Volume 14 (Seven Cities of Gold). Will they continue to separate the Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck books or will they integrate the stories like they're doing for the Rosa collection? I would much rather they choose the latter option as I'd like to read these stories in chronological order, rather than jump back and forth between books (I also don't know if a book consisting almost solely of WDC&S ten-pagers would sell well enough on its own - they'll need a solid Scrooge epic to market it behind). Also, "Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge" is enough of an umbrella title to get the other miscellaneous stories in there (Gyro, Grandma Duck, etc.).
I really wish I could get a look at their overall plan for the series but part of the fun is waiting and seeing what comes out next!

Thanks. Funny this should come up as I was just wondering these past few days what next years Fantagraphics releases would look like. Can't wait until the cover art comes up!

Agree completely and hope Fantagraphics comes to its senses very soon. One of the things I really enjoy in these books is the variety of story lengths and types. A Gyro volume would be disastrous.
